Chaukori is a ridge-top hamlet at 2,010m in Pithoragarh district, famous for its unobstructed sunrise panorama of the greater Himalayan ranges — Nanda Devi, Panchachuli, and Nanda Kot. The village is draped in KMVN tea gardens with terraced fields and rhododendron forests. Patal Bhubneshwar — an ancient underground cave temple mentioned in the Skanda Purana — lies just 14km away.
